- Start with the firmware update tool: Open your router's management Console-> go to System section and carefully follow the on-screen instructions to download & install Netgear router firmware update.

- Next, if Power LED on modem is not lit, turn off both router & modem. Now, wait for few seconds before restarting the modem.

Hard Reset on Network
- Press and hold ‘Reset’ button on router device for around 30 seconds. During this step, the router will restart.

If that’s a yes, then here are some advanced troubleshooting steps worth trying to fix the error.
- Plug one end of Ethernet cable into the router’s port and other in computer or laptop device.
- Next, open any browser window and type the default gateway IP address of your router i.e. 192.168.1.1
Note: In case, the IP address doesn’t work for your router, open cmd and type ‘ipconfig’ command to check the Default gateway of your router.
- Afterward, type the authenticated login credentials for your router on routerlogin.net page and enter its console window.
- If you see a PPPoE, configure your Netgear router with its username-password
- However, if there is a static IP address, then configure your router with IP address, DNS address and default gateway address provided by your ISP
- In case, you find dynamic IP address, tap on Smart Wizard test button to know if the router is gaining internet access or not.
- To confirm that router is getting a valid IP address, check the information under Router Status. If you find a non-valid IP address, Power Cycle your network.
Note: If your Wizard doesn’t display any IP address, restart your modem and router. And, if you can’t login routerlogin.net address- restore your router to its default factory settings.
